Hastings Horns

Hastings HornsFavourites of the local music scene, Hastings Horns combine a brilliant set-list with charm, energy and wit - making all the classics you know and love sound new and exciting once again. They undoubtedly deserve the excellent reputation they've built over the years.

With such a talented bunch of musicians, HBMF 2010 starts with a bang. Make sure you're part of the fun - this is what festivals are all about.

Liane Carroll

Liane Carroll Liane Carroll is one of the UK's most gifted and natural musicians. Double BBC Jazz winner - the only artist ever to win in two categories in a single year (Best Vocalist & Best of Jazz) - and winner of the prestigious Ronnie Scotts Award, she's certainly no run-of-the-mill Jazz musician. Liane sings, writes and performs with Drum & Bass heavyweights London Elektricty, and recently recorded her second album at the famous Abbey Road Studios, Studio 1.

Her passion, effortless performance style and sheer musicianship guarantees that Liane Carroll at HBMF 2010 is not one to be missed - a real treat for lovers of all musical styles.

Blair MacKichan

Blair MacKichanReturning to the HBMF stage and guaranteed to deliver a fantastic night's music, entertainment and fun, is the irrepressible Blair.

As well as Top 40 Chart success with singles 'Have Fun Go Mad' and 'Life', Blair tours the UK with his band, signed to Mercury Records. A multi-instrumentalist and singer, Blair is hooked on live performance and performs with Sacred People, Fickle Hand of Fate, The Satellites, Blair & Friends... and the Which Blair Project?

In Blair's capable hands, Friday night will be one of the biggest - and best - HBMF has ever seen!

Steve Furst as Lenny Beige

Steve Furst Star of the Orange mobile phone cinema ads and TV of all shapes, Steve Furst is a renowned comedian, actor and writer.

Under the guise of his alter-ego Lenny Beige, he'll bring just the right mix or wit and surreal stage presence to HBMF 2010 - and a head full of laugh-out-loud gags that'll have you rolling in the aisles.

Saturday Afternoon 3rd July - 12 noon to 5pm

A day of fun and festivities for all the family - with games for kids of all ages, acoustic grooves and energetic rhythms.

Family Singathon (1pm-4pm)

Organised by Roger Wilcock (conductor of Thursday's inaugural Battle of Hastings Proms) with the Hastings Sierra Leone Friendship Link, HBMF 2010's Family Singathon brings the people of Hastings together, raising money to help rebuild our twin town of Hastings, Sierra Leone in the aftermath of civil war.

Over a dozen local choirs and groups perform two numbers each, one to listen to and enjoy, and one to join in - and enjoy all the more!

Sambalanco

Sambalanco Sambalanco is a community band where everyday people from all walks of life come together to play Afro-Brazilian carnival rhythms - and wow audiences at every turn. Simple yet sublime, Sambalanco's funky groove brings the spirit of the carnival to Hastings - lifting HBMF 2010 with pounding rhythms that'll have you dancing in the sunshine.

Christophe Philipps

Christophe Philipps After his HBMF debut last year, local singer/songwriter Christophe Philipps returns armed only with his voice, a guitar, and a bag full of old favourites. Bringing acoustic grooves for all ages and audition interaction to the skies over Alexandra Park, this is the perfect way to spend a summer's day.

Centralia DC

Centralia DC Winners of the Hastings Battle of the Bands 2009, Centralia DC are a five-piece band quickly making waves and gaining a reputation for delivering big music in a big way. Opening HBMF 2010's Saturday night, they're sure to make an impression, fire you up - and get you ready for a full-on night of music ahead.

Outcry

Outcry Outcry are a fantastic four-piece band from Hastings, bringing you all your favourite rock covers in high-octane fashion. So explosive, so inventive, no two gigs are ever the same - and are all the better for it. You won't want to miss them.

MT Vessells

MT Vessells reminds you why rock took off in the first place, bringing the energy, excitement and sheer entertainment of rock - and the rock gods who played it - kicking and screaming to life, and guaranteeing that HBMF 2010's Saturday night will be one to remember.

Cushty

Cushty Cushty are a four-piece band from Hastings, already famous for their mixture of high-energy covers and originals encompassing a variety of musical styles including rock, ska and punk. We've no doubt they're destined for greatness - and you'll see why at HBMF 2010's Saturday night rock out.

1066 Rockitmen

1066 Rockitmen You never know quite what to expect from the irrepressible 1066 Rockitmen. But one thing's for sure, if anyone can deliver excellent live music, the very best party and covers songs, and an electric atmosphere other festivals can only dream of, they can - and then some.

With music from the 50s to present day, they bring a good time to all wherever they go - raising the roof and bringing the house down. So, who better to close HBMF 2010 in true Hastings style? These boys are what HBMF is all about - great fun for great causes.
